John 17:20,
"I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message."
Think
"Jesus was praying for you and thinking of you 2,000 years ago."
Even people who believe in Jesus can wonder at times if God has checked out on them. When life takes a swing at us, sometimes we can feel like God is far away; like he doesn't care. But today's verse reminds us that Jesus infinitely cares about you! In John 17:20, he was praying for you! Let that sink in: JESUS WAS PRAYING FOR YOU! If Jesus was praying for you imagine the kind of relationship he wants to have with you. One where you don't get isolated in your bad decisions, doubts and fears, but where you seek Him and find wisdom, strength and confidence. If you're feeling stuck or isolated, remove the idea that God has checked out on you, because he hasn't! Instead, ask God to prepare you for whatever it is he has prepared for you, and continue trusting and giving him your all. No matter what you face – financial struggles, a bad diagnosis, relational issues – Jesus knows, cares, and is with you today, tomorrow, and forever!
Act
In the same way Jesus prayed for you, you can pray for others. One of the greatest ways God can use you is through praying for people. Ask God who you can pray for today. Text that person God has brought to mind. Ask how you can pray for them today and then do it.
Pray
God, thank you for caring for me! Help me to pray for others and to know you are with me no matter what I'm going through. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
