What Would Jesus Say to Joe Biden – Lead With Integrity

    Posted on May 9, 2023 12:00:00 AM

Read: Psalm 101:2 “I will be careful to lead a blameless life – when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.”

Proverbs 21:3 “To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.”

Think: In the early days of television, a famous personality asked, "Who Do You Trust?" Today, when asked the same question, most Americans indicate that they trust no one!

This conclusion was confirmed in a recent survey that revealed just how widespread this sense of mistrust is. Nearly half of the respondents said they do not trust any news source. They were skeptical and felt that every source had motives other than truth. Business and government also ranked high in mistrust, while the advertising industry ranked last in trustworthiness.

A major cause of this mistrust is a perceived lack of integrity. How do we define integrity? It means "always keeping promises." Unfortunately, it seems that few people today really mean what they say or keep their promises.

As believers, we have an opportunity to witness to others through our words and deeds. We can demonstrate integrity by keeping our promises and commitments, and by being truthful in our interactions. When we act with integrity, we build trust with those around us and show that we are people of our word.

Apply: People are watching. So today, as you go about your day, be a man, woman, or student of integrity. Emulate Jesus. Be trustworthy.

    Pray:

Dear Jesus, please help me to be trustworthy and principle-driven, not circumstance-led. Help me to live according to your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
