    Was Not Expecting That…

    Read

Acts 9:1, "Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord's followers."

Acts 9:3-6, "As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?’ ‘Who are you, Lord?’ Saul asked. And the voice replied, ‘I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.’”

    Think

We all know that one person we think would never give Jesus a chance. Saul was that person. He was famous, but for the worst of reasons: he was known for killing Christians.

In this story, Saul is heading to capture Christians and throw them into prison. What he doesn’t know is that he’s about to have an epic encounter with Jesus! This encounter completely changes his life; he does a 180 and begins to follow Jesus. The same man who was killing Christ-followers goes on to begins sharing the good news of Jesus.

What is so amazing about this story is not that Jesus COULD use a guy like Saul, but that He WOULD use a guy like Saul. God is bigger than our biggest mistakes, and He is willing and able to use anyone at any time. Everyone we have ever locked eyes with matters to God. Don't ever believe that someone is out of God's reach. And, don't think that your mistakes keep you from being used by God to reach out to others.

    Act

Who is the one person you think would never give Jesus a chance? Take time to pray for that person today. Then, be ready for God to use you to reach them!

    Pray

God, help me never write anyone off. Give me the faith to always believe that You can use anyone. Give me the opportunity today to help point someone toward You. Amen.
