    Read:

Proverbs 26:11-12 (NKJV) “As a dog returns to his own vomit, so a fool repeats his folly. Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”

    Think:

The biggest Memorial Day weekend blockbuster in history was "Top Gun: Maverick," the highly anticipated sequel starring Tom Cruise. In the original 1986 classic "Top Gun," the ace fighter pilot experiences a devastating tragedy for which he holds himself personally responsible. His best friend and co-pilot, "Goose," is killed, and throughout the film, Maverick grapples with the grief and guilt that come with such a loss. Despite questioning himself, Maverick becomes reckless and disregards advice from others. Ultimately, he seeks guidance from a mentor who imparts the wisdom that "every fighter pilot has to do two things: analyze and make decisions as they adjust, learn from what they've done and seen, and move forward.”

As believers we learn from our mistakes, and then we move forward. By acknowledging our errors and taking responsibility for our actions, we can gain valuable lessons that enable us to grow and move forward. Just like Maverick, we may experience feelings of guilt, grief, and regret, but it's essential to seek guidance from the Bible or trusted sources to help us navigate through difficult times. As believers, we can embrace our imperfections and strive for personal growth, all while seeking God's grace and forgiveness along the way.
