Luke 12:34,
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Think
"God tests us with the tangible." "Follow your heart." This advice shows up in endless stories, movies and music lyrics. The idea is that what is going on in your heart can't be ignored and that you will never experience a full life unless you align your heart with your actions. There is no doubt that aligning your heart and actions is essential to a well-lived life. But what if the best for your life didn't come from following your heart as much as leading your heart? Jesus showed us that we could lead our heart to what is most important by what we do with our treasure. Where we invest our treasure will ultimately be what our heart desires most. So where are you investing? If you want to lead your heart out of the control of your possessions, practice generosity. By giving something you value away, you are leading your heart. And the more you generously invest your stuff into other things, the more your heart will begin to value something more than your possessions – and that leads to a full life.
