    The Question

    Read

2 Corinthians 12:9, "Each time he said, 'My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.' So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of Christ can work through me."

    Think

Anyone who has been on a job interview has heard some form of this question: "What would you say is your greatest weakness?" Isn't it interesting that we are so uncomfortable answering it? Perhaps it's because we're not ready to admit our weaknesses. Or, we are afraid we will be rejected if we admit that we have weaknesses. In a job interview, we aren't quick to brag about our shortcomings to our future employers.

As Christ-followers, we can view our weaknesses as potential strengths with God's power working in us. His coaching and correction can refine us and make us stronger, if we are willing to rely on Him.

Paul accepted that there were areas where he was weak. But he had confidence because he knew his weakness was an opportunity for God to work in his life, ultimately giving him access to God's transforming power. Paul even says he was "glad to boast about his weaknesses" because he knew that where he fell short, Christ's power would work through him and help him excel.

    Act

Take a few minutes to write a note to yourself on paper or in the notes app on your phone. List areas of weakness that God has shown you today, and then write 2 Corinthians 12:9. Read your note throughout the day, pray, and ask God to fill in where your weaknesses end!

    Pray

Lord, I know there are areas in my life where I am weak. Help me depend on Your strength and power today in those areas, instead of my own. In Jesus' name, Amen.
