Read:
Song of Solomon 8:6 "Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame."
Think:
Solomon's bride speaks to him in this passage, articulating the most potent thing she can imagine: death. Humanly speaking, there is no cure; death conquers everything. In this section of Scripture, Solomon's bride says that love is stronger than death.
In purely romantic terms, we adore the idea that love cannot be stopped. We watch films like Titanic and Ghost; we comprehend that love endures. Popular music sings, "Our love is here to stay.” But Christians truly understand the reality that “love is stronger than death.”
God loves us so much that He wants us to live forever in heaven. He sent His Son so we could have eternal life. When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave, He defeated death. Love is more powerful than death. Love is invincible!
Act:
Love is a gift that we must receive. Have you received this gift that Jesus offers? You can have eternal life with Him if you accept this free gift of salvation.
Pray:
Thank You, Jesus, for facing death to give me life. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for Your sacrifice on the cross. Amen.
