    The Mundane Matters

    Read

Colossians 4:12, "Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, greets you, always struggling on your behalf in his prayers, that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God."

Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

    Think

Let's face it; 99% of our lives are spent doing the mundane. We wake up, go to work or school, come home, tend to our household duties, go to bed, repeat. And within the monotony of our daily grind, it's easy to think we're not making our mark on the world. We get impatient, wondering why God isn't moving in bigger ways. Well, God's Word tells us that He is constantly working "through all things for our good." That means that even within our seemingly insignificant daily activities, God is equipping us to fulfill our unique purpose. So, mundane matters!

In today's verse, Paul gives a shout out to his friend, Epaphras, a diligent and faithful servant of Christ in the Colossian church. In the next verse, Paul goes on to say, "I vouch for him that he is working hard for you." That's quite a compliment! And let's also note that he was a remarkable man of prayer. Just like us, Epaphras had a daily routine, and he, too, probably grew impatient at times. But it was within the monotony of the mundane that he made a huge impact by working to advance the message of Jesus Christ and promote godly living in the early church.

Every day we have the opportunity and influence to make an impact in the lives of others. Whether it's exhibiting patience while standing in line at the grocery store, being a reliable friend, or taking a meal to a sick neighbor, we are reflecting God's love and character.

Remember, the mundane matters. So, as you go about your normal routine, keep in mind that God may be using your ordinary to do the extraordinary!

    Act

Today, as you interact with others, let your words and actions reflect Jesus' character. After all, you never know who's watching! Your kindness, patience, and peaceful attitude might open the door for an opportunity to share your story or to invite someone to church.

    Pray

Lord, Thank You for Your power at work in me. Please guide me to focus on the daily journey without growing complacent or overwhelmed. Help me experience peace, knowing that You are faithful to accomplish Your purpose in my life. Use me to share Your love with others today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
