“After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” Revelation 4:1
Think
When something wrong happens in our world, when a crime is committed, our automatic response is, “Someone’s got to pay!” We have a mindset that is bent towards justice. We want to see wrongs righted. That isn’t just something we came up with on our own, however. That justice mindset is ingrained into our souls by the God of the universe, who is the ultimate Judge. In the Book of Revelation, we read about the fact that God has the final word. He gives the final verdict. In the end, evil will not triumph.
As you look at our world today, it can be easy to think that evil is winning. But keep in mind that what we see is only temporary. God, who reigns in eternity, has the final say. Have hope in the future and trust in the Judge as you go through each day.
Act
When you read today’s headlines, remember that everything our world is experiencing is temporary. Don’t let the bad news keep you distracted from the reality of the greatest news: God wins!
Pray
Lord, Thank You for this reminder that You have the ultimate victory over sin, death, and evil. Help me keep a God-centered, eternal outlook on the world today. Amen.
