Read 

Hebrews 7:27, "Unlike the other high priests, (Jesus) does not need to offer sacrifices day after day … he sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself." 

Think 

Wouldn't it be great if there was a magic spray that deflected every kind of stain? Mustard, marinara sauce, grape juice -- nothing would leave a mark!

In biblical times, it was the duty of the high priests to offer sacrifices repeatedly to cleanse the stain of everyone's wrongdoings or sins. When Jesus came, he lived a perfect, spot-free life. And when He died on the cross, He was the one sacrifice that was powerful enough to wash away everyone's mess-ups and mistakes "once and for all." He was the final sacrifice. So, when we ask Jesus into our lives, He permanently removes the stain of our sin! 

Will we still mess up, make mistakes, and sin? Yes. But, no matter how spotted our past, if we have a personal relationship with Jesus, we will never again appear dirty in the eyes of God. Because when He looks at us, He sees Jesus – spotless and clean. He also gives us the power to resist temptation and the strength to choose to live life God's way.

God, I admit that I have made mistakes and that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I choose to turn from my sin and turn to You. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that God raised Him from the dead. I commit my life to Jesus and choose to follow Him each day. Amen.
