Matthew 5:15, “…People do not light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand. Then it gives light to everyone in the house.” 

Have you ever driven by a billboard along the highway that was so bright you couldn’t help but look up to see what it was all about? Jesus is the same way. When Jesus walked the earth, people often went to great lengths to catch a glimpse of Him. Jesus came to this earth to bring light into a dark world because God loves us so much that He sent His perfect Son to die for our mistakes and rise again.

Jesus is THE perfect example of a bright and glowing billboard. He was a servant, a friend, and a mentor, always willing to tell anyone and everyone about who God is.

We are called to be living, breathing billboards, too. If you are a follower of Christ, are you shining His light so that others can catch a glimpse of God? Jesus wants us to share our faith every chance we get.

Today, purpose in your heart to become a living, breathing, walking, talking billboard for Christ so that others will want to have what you have and know who you know!

Think of someone you know who is a walking billboard for Jesus. Someone so bright that the atmosphere changes when they walk into a room. Call them and thank them for being such a bright light in our dark world, and promise yourself to do the same.

Jesus, Thank You for placing people around me who bring light into my life in times of darkness. And transform my heart to be more like You every day so that I, too, can shine Your light before others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
