1 Corinthians 9:22-23, "When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share the blessings."
Think
Paul was a friend to sinners; he ate with them, talked with them, and even stayed in their homes. He met with them right on their turf, in a place where they would be comfortable learning. He didn't want to put up any stumbling blocks that might cause others to miss out on hearing the saving message of Jesus.
As a Christ-follower, it is important to position yourself where Jesus can work through you in the lives of others. If you approach others with arrogance and a "better than you attitude," you will not be able to communicate effectively. Instead, take time to find common ground with others. Listen to them and find out what they believe. Then, share your story and answer any questions they may have about what the Bible teaches. If you don't know an answer, admit you don't know, and assure them you will find someone who does. When we share our faith in a caring, humble way, we are reflecting Christ’s love even as we tell others about His love.
Act
Take an index card and write three names of people you know who don't know Christ. Pray for them and contact at least one of them this week. Go to lunch or have coffee and ask questions about their beliefs. Be ready to share your story and trust God to open doors to share your faith!
Pray
God, give me the wisdom to share what I believe with others. Show me the people I need to reach, and then, as I contact them, guide me in my conversations so I can show them Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
