Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Think about your family for a moment. It doesn’t matter if your family is a single-parent family, blended family, or nuclear family with 2.3 kids and a dog. God wants EVERY family to win! And the truth is, every family wants to win. Yet, so many families in today’s world—while they may appear to “have it all together”—are coming up short of all that God has for them. How do we experience the victory God has for us? It’s all about priorities. 

When we make God the top priority in our family’s life, we are set up for success. Because when God is our primary focus, we will focus on what God wants. And when we focus on what God wants, we will get God’s results! Is your family set up for success? Is God a priority for your family? Or are you trying to focus on so many things that God has gottenlost in the mix? It’s time to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness”!  

Act 

Setting priorities is all about saying “no” to the good so you can say “yes” to the best. Think about your schedule. What are some things in your schedule that you need to start saying “no” to so you can say “yes” to God in prayer, church attendance, and community with other Christ-followers?  

Pray 

Dear God, thank You for clearly setting Your priorities in Scripture. Help me and my family have the discipline and strength to focus first and foremost on You in everything we do so that we can experience the victory You have for us! In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
