    Motivated Messengers

    Read

Isaiah 5:20,  "What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter."

    Think

"We should be angry about what angers God." It's okay to get mad! Jesus got angry, and he's perfect. God created us in his image and he gets angry, too. The key to constructive anger is to only be angry about what angers God - sin. As today's verse highlights, we need to hate evil, darkness and that which is bitter.  We need to see the world with God's eyes and be angry at what makes him angry. The good news is that good anger brings about change. So, how are we to be "angry and good" and "good and angry" at the same time? 1. Be angry for the right reasons. Is this about what angers God or because you didn't get your way? 2. Be angry at the right thing. Are you focusing your anger at the wrong done, or the wrong doer? 3. Be angry the right way. Are you losing your cool and becoming a part of the problem, or are you part of the solution? Let your anger over sin motivate you to share the forgiveness and change you have experienced because of Jesus. Focus on turning your anger into positive energy and look to God for guidance in times of frustration.

    Act

Evaluate the godly anger in your life. What are ways your good anger can motivate you to be part of the solution?

    Pray

Dear God, help me see ways to share your message of hope. Give me wisdom in my times of anger and fuel me with positive energy to bring about change for you! In Jesus' name, Amen.
