Isaiah 60:1,3, "...the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you ... And nations shall come to your light." Colossians 3:10, "...put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator."

Think

Studies show that, on average, women look at themselves in the mirror 16 times a day and men an average of 23 times. We look at ourselves all of the time, but what about God? Does He ever look in the mirror? And, if so, what does He see? The Bible says that we are made in God's image. Therefore, we are His image-bearers. When He looks at us, He should see Himself. He should see a reflection of His glory. He should see His love in the way we respond to our spouse, His patience in the way we parent our children, His purity in the way we date. This responsibility should not be taken lightly. However, sin enters the equation when we choose to turn the mirror toward ourselves instead of reflecting the glory of God. As a result, the image we see is cracked, marred and distorted. It's a reflection of shame and regret, the lies and illusions the enemy wants us to believe. But it's our choice. We can either deflect or reflect the majesty of our Maker. It's time to turn the mirror away from ourselves and back to God. He will restore our cracks and mars as the brilliant blaze of His glory shines in us for the whole world to see.

Act

We need to often remind ourselves about the responsibility of being image-bearers of God. Tape a reminder on your mirror with this question: "Can God see His glory in me?"

Pray

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me in Your image. I don't want to take this responsibility lightly. Therefore, help me to keep the mirror of my life turned away from myself and toward You instead. I want my life to be a reflection of You and Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen!
