    Read:

Isaiah 43:1-2 “But now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.'”

Luke 8:48 “Then he said to her, 'Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.'”

    Think:

Have you ever found yourself in a crowded room – perhaps at a convention or event – where everyone wears name tags, and you can't help but feel like the most insignificant person in the room? You wear a smile, but deep down, you sense that others might be peering over your shoulder, searching for the supposed "important" figure in the distance. It's in these moments that an internal discussion begins: “Does anyone truly see me? Does my existence carry any meaningful impact? Does anyone even know my name?”

In the Gospel of Luke, we encounter a woman burdened not only by physical ailments but also by societal labels—sick, impoverished, unwanted. Yet, she remained nameless in the eyes of the world. The world had labeled her as unimportant. However, when Jesus crossed her path, He did more than address her needs and restore her health; He gave her an eternal identity—He called her "daughter."

At times, we become so engrossed in the world's perspective of importance – often equating it with wealth or fame – that we lose sight of a fundamental truth. The truth lies in the answer to a different question: Who does God say you are? Are you his child?

    Apply:

Have you decided to follow Jesus and become his child? Settle your identity today. Ask him to be your Lord and Savior. Give him control.

    Pray:

Jesus, I am grateful that I am your child. Please guide me in recognizing and embracing my true identity in you. Show me how to walk in your ways. In Jesus' name. Amen.
