    It's Just "Is-ness"

    Read

Psalm 99:1-3, "The Lord is king! Let the nations tremble! He sits on His throne between the cherubim. Let the whole earth quake! The Lord sits in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all the nations. Let them praise Your great and awesome name. Your name is holy!" Psalm 99:5, "Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His footstool - He is holy."

    Think

Have you ever tried to describe how air became air? It's intrinsic to what it is. It just is. On an even more majestic level, the "is-ness" of God is holiness. He did nothing to obtain it, it's who He is – holy and set apart. God's holiness is truly magnificent and that same holiness is accessible to you the moment you accept Jesus as your Savior. In an instant, the label on your life changes from "lost sinner" to "holy saint." Then, when God looks at you, He doesn't focus on the fact that you aren't a perfect parent, that you haven't made the best choices in the dating arena, or that you tried to fudge on that business deal. He chooses to see you as holy and set apart. That is great news! Now, that doesn't mean you can live however you want. It means that God sees past your sin to the person He knows you are. We choose to live God's way for our protection and out of respect for who God is. So, let's live a life set apart from sinfulness and glorify the name of our Holy God.

    Act

Do you see yourself as holy and set apart? It's a hard thing to see ourselves that way! What if today, you decided to draw the line? No going back. Declare this out loud right now: "I am set apart and God wants to use me to reflect His glory to others!"

    Pray

Heavenly Father, I am in awe of You. Thank You for choosing to see me as a reflection of You regardless of my past. Help me to start seeing myself as being set apart and holy. I want to reflect You in all that I do! In Jesus' name, Amen.
