    Invitation

    Read

Then the Master told his servant, “Go out to the roads and the country lanes and compel them to come in so that my house will be full. I tell you, not one of those who were invited will taste of my banquet.” Luke 14:23-24

    Think

Imagine the excitement of being invited to THE party of the year. The host is famous for providing the best food, entertainment, and hospitality for his guests. We would jump at that chance to attend and make whatever calendar changes necessary to be there.

However, in the Parable of the Great Banquet, this was not the reaction the master received from the guests he invited. Instead of being excited, the invitees gave lame excuses for not attending. So, the master rescinded his invitation to those invitees and, instead, sent his servants out to offer it to those who would better appreciate and benefit from his hospitality.

We have all been invited to a Great Banquet, hosted by God, that is beyond our wildest imagination. Sadly, some will reject His invitation. But others aren’t even aware of the invitation yet. As Christ-followers, we have the opportunity to extend that invitation. We are the servants the master has sent to compel those who need the Bread of Life to come to the table so that His house will be full. Who are you inviting to the table?

    Act

We have so many opportunities here at Fellowship Church to invite people to the table. Extend an invitation to someone by inviting them to church tomorrow, to Good Friday in the Park on April 15, or to one of our many Easter services. Just go to the FC App home page for more details.

    Pray

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the banquet You have prepared for us and invited us all to participate in. Help me to do my part in making sure everyone knows about their invitation to the banquet. I pray Your House will be full and that those in chair one begin to consume the Bread of Life at Your table. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
