"Unfailing love and faithfulness make atonement for sin. By fearing the LORD, people avoid evil." Psalm 118:4,
"Let those who fear the Lord say: "His love endures forever."
There are certain things we set aside to use only on special occasions. We use our nicest table cloth, best dishes, and fanciest silverware. We extend next-level hospitality and give attention to every detail. We serve a delicious meal with the best dessert. We want our guests to feel and experience the love that's gone into the preparation because they are special, set apart. In a much greater sense, this level of hospitality represents holiness. To be holy means to be set apart, intended for something special. God is perfectly holy, and we are not. We're imperfect, and all fall short of His holiness. However, because of Christ's loving sacrifice, we can be made holy. We can be set apart for His purposes. We can be used by Him to make a difference. We can extend holy hospitality to others. Holy hospitality isn't just for special occasions - it's a lifestyle. Jesus modeled this during His time on earth. Because we have a healthy fear of God and have been transformed by His love, we aim to be generous, loving, and caring with our family, friends, and strangers. God uses those who live holy lives. Strive for holiness. Let your life be set apart and used by God for His purposes. Make it known that His love endures forever!
In this time of social distancing, hospitality isn't always the first thing that comes to mind. Yet, it's more important now than ever! As we approach Easter Sunday, plan something special to share with family and friends to commemorate Jesus' resurrection. Invite everyone you know to experience Easter at Fellowshiplive.com. Color Easter eggs or make Resurrection Cookies with the family. Visit with loved ones via video. Celebrate the holy day it is.
Heavenly Father, You are holy, and Your love endures forever! Help me to express that in my own life. Let my words and actions be a reflection of what pleases You. Let me see others as You see them and extend love and hospitality on Your behalf. Use me, Lord, for Your purposes. In Jesus' name, Amen!
