Hebrews 12:1, "Therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses..." Hebrews 12:3, "Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

    Think

Saying someone has their "head in the clouds" isn't exactly a compliment. It implies mental distance from others or a lack of awareness about what's going on. However, in the Christian life, it takes on a whole new meaning. In fact, for those of us who want to do life God's way, we should be striving to keep our head in the clouds and our eyes fixed on Jesus. Even while we live with two feet on the ground, we want to have a heavenly perspective. Obeying God isn't a top priority in our world today. At times, this can leave us feeling isolated and alone as we strive to do life God's way – but we aren't alone. Throughout the Bible, great people of faith such as Noah, Moses, Elijah, and Paul endured hardships of all kinds. And, right now, they are cheering us on from Heaven! When you're dealing with a difficult situation at work, you are not alone. When you are unsure about how to parent your teenage child, you are not alone. When you receive that daunting diagnosis, you are not alone. Although you can't see them, you can be encouraged by the presence and support of this "great cloud of witnesses" in your daily walk with God!
