Luke 12:6-7,
"What's the price of two or three pet canaries? Some loose change, right? But God never overlooks a single one. And He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail-even numbering the hairs on your head! So, don't be intimidated by all this bully talk. You're worth more than a million canaries." (MSG) Psalm 139:13-14,
"For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Think
Do you ever feel like you're just another face in the crowd? Are there times when you look around and feel insignificant compared to others? It's natural, we've all felt that way at one time or another. But what's great is, we don't have to! In Luke 12, Jesus was in a confrontation with His enemies. Then, in a moment of love and compassion, He used a vivid object lesson to show His listeners just how much they mattered to God. Not one face in the crowd went unnoticed. Not one person was insignificant in God's eyes. That's still true today. God knows everything about you, even down to the number of hairs on your head. He gave you unique characteristics and talents for a specific purpose. You are loved beyond understanding. So, every time you see a bird in the sky, let it be a reminder of just how much God cares for you. After all, you are worth more than a million canaries!
Act
This week, focus on how intimately God knows you. Each day during prayer time, remember to "praise God that YOU are fearfully and wonderfully made."
Pray
Dear God, I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made! Draw near to my heart and remind me when I forget how much you love me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
