Think
Do you recall those significant moments of pain in your life? The moment when you were betrayed by a childhood friend, when you left home for the first time, when your daughter's heart was broken, when you lost someone you loved – they all bring a little moisture, a tear to the eyes. We can be overwhelmed with tears through our pain, and the tears will not stop; they seem uncontrollable.
Have you ever considered why God created a physical act to coincide with our emotional feelings? It is because he cares. He does not dismiss our pain; he records it! He is personal, intimate, and caring. He knows our struggles, our loneliness, our burdens, our anxiety, and our loss. He understands our pain and has given us a physical way to express it. Not one tear goes unnoticed by God. One day, he will wipe away every tear in heaven for eternity, but today lift those tear-stained cheeks to him. He cares for you.

Jesus, thank you for caring even though I sometimes doubt your goodness during difficult times. Help me seek your presence when I can't see your face. Comfort me with your compassion. Amen.
