    READ

John 5:30 "By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me."

    THINK

For many people, one of the motivations for exercise is the goal of comfortably fitting into a favorite pair of jeans or dress again. Though the path to that goal has days, weeks, and months of discomfort, their willingness to get uncomfortable can lead to a rewarding outcome.

Christ's willingness to humble Himself and become uncomfortable for God allows us to receive a rewarding outcome like no other — eternity with God!

In this scripture, Christ knew how important it was to be obedient to God even when others mocked and rejected him. Christ lived uncomfortably for God because He knew that God had a great plan for Him and that, without God, He couldn't do anything. He impacted eternity forever by staying humble and living according to His Father’s will.

God has a great plan that He can't wait to reveal to You. But it often takes time and perseverance to experience the growth and preparation God has in store for you. You may sometimes even experience ridicule because you do things God's way and not the world's way. Keep your priorities with God, and know that you will experience a rewarding comfort from God as you live uncomfortably for Him.

    PRAY

Thank you, God, for sending Your Son, Jesus, to live uncomfortably for You so that we can be comforted by You. Help me get out of my comfort zone by connecting with others at church and reaching out to others who need it. Please guide me through any uncomfortable times ahead, and remind me that You are sufficient to provide all the comfort I need.

    ACT

What is one thing you have been trying to conquer by yourself? Place God as a priority and ask Him to guide you through the situation.
