    God's Way vs. Our Way

    Read

John 5:24-25, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live."

    Think

"When we do things God's way, we get God's results." Imagine writing down where you would like to see your life in ten years. Then, someone gives you another sheet of paper showing you what God would do in your life over the next ten years if you chose to go his way over your own. Do you know what you would do? You would throw your sheet of paper into the trash! That's how good God's plan is for your life! But let's face it, a lot of us are not living that life right now because it's difficult to trust God's way over our own. Think about what Jesus was saying in John 5:30, "I seek not to please myself, but him (God) who sent me." Imagine how hard that was at times for him. But he did it to the point of giving his life on a cross so we could be forgiven of our all sin and have a relationship with God for eternity. It was worth it! You were worth it! The reward was worth it! You can never out-give, out-dream, or out-adventure God. His way is always better than our way. And when it's tough to go his way, or when it's not popular, in the end it's worth it!

    Act

What is an area of your life where you need to give Jesus the keys and put him in the driver's seat? Identify and surrender that area, believing God has something even better than whatever it is you're holding onto.

    Pray

God, thank you for showing me how to find the greatest life I could ever imagine. I know you have so much in store for me. Help me to see what I need to let go of. I give you the keys. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
