    God's Way

    Read

Hebrews 12:1-2,  "Let's throw off any extra baggage, get rid of the sin that trips us up and fix our eyes on Jesus."

    Think

"God's way works!" Throughout this series, we've been looking at the reality that we all have some level of dysfunction in our lives, because we have all dissed God's function for our lives. We've also learned that there are steps we need to take away from that dysfunction and toward God's function, purpose, and plan for us. Those steps, though, cannot be taken without relying fully on God. As much as we want to change, we can't do it without God's help. Our will and power are not enough; but God's is. As we continue to go through this series, it's time for each of us to take serious stock in our lives. Are you just hoping to change and even wanting to change, but are unwilling to give up control to the only One who can change you? The hardest step toward change is humbling ourselves. But don't fall into the trap of thinking you can do it on your own. Instead, trust that God's way works. And trust Him to see you through the change you need.

    Act

The Christian life is also called a walk, because it is step after step. Today, take the step of connecting with God through prayer. Just spend the next few moments talking with God and asking Him to reveal His plan, purpose, and direction in your life. And admit to Him that you need His help to change.

    Pray

Thank you, God, for the purpose you have in my life. Help me to continue to humble myself before you so that I can get in line with Your purpose. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
