    Game Face

    Read

Deuteronomy 31:7-8, "Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.'"

Psalm 31:14-15, "But I am trusting You, O LORD, saying, ‘You are my God! My future is in Your hands.'"

    Think

When you've been dealt a hand in cards, no one knows what you have but you. So, you have two options: play or fold. If you choose the former, if you're a "true player," you put on your game face to make others think you have a better hand than you do.

When facing the future, too many of us put on a game face that belies what's really happening under the surface. Truth be told, most of us fear the uncertainty of the unknown. Career, marriage, family - will they be successful? Like Joshua, life has dealt us a hand to play, so we must figure out if we can make it work or decide to fold and just throw it all in.

Time to stop bluffing! Take off your game face and admit that you're not certain if you have a winning hand. As you confess your fear, also declare that there's One who will never leave or forsake you - your Heavenly Father!

Joshua overcame his fear, leaned into God, and led his people into the Promised Land successfully. Today, you, too, can boldly state: "I am trusting you, O LORD. No matter what I've been dealt in life, You are my God, and my future is in Your hands." Do this, and you'll win time and time again!

    Act

When it comes to the future, what's your greatest fear? Say it out loud. Now read today's verse aloud, Psalm 31:14-15. Commit this verse to memory and repeatedly say it with confidence throughout the day.

    Pray

Dear God, I trust that You will never leave me nor forsake me. My future is in your hands! In Jesus' name, Amen.
