Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

    Think

What's the Big Idea? One of the most common questions asked by many is "Does God have a plan for my life?" The answer is "Yes!" But, that plan is not focused on finding the perfect job that fits you best. It is not even finding the perfect spouse with whom you will live happily, ever after! First and foremost, God's plan for your life is for you to trust him with all your heart. God's big idea for us is the one thing that gives cohesion to the whole of our lives – our jobs, our relationships, our interests. That big idea is our willingness to trust God in everything. We choose not to depend on our understanding only, but to entrust our lives and plans to God. That is when we can be confident that he will make our life choices successful ones. Our future plans always come back to our relationship with God. Do you trust him or not? Trust is not acting on your own and then giving lip service to God, claiming that you trust him. Trust is asking God for his wisdom in your life choices first and then applying that wisdom to your plans.

    Act

Commit Proverbs 3:5-6 to memory and bring it to mind every time you make an important decision in your life.

    Pray

Heavenly Father, Today, I choose to trust you first instead of leaning on my own understanding. I submit my life choices to you, knowing that you will guide me throughout my day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
