    Forward Progress

Exodus 3:8a, "So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey-"

    Think

"Living in victory means forward progress." Football is a game of forward progress. The entire point of the offensive game is to push the ball downfield and score. Nothing is more frustrating to a team than the inability to move the ball. When God called Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egyptian slavery, he was handing them the ball and telling them to move downfield, into the Promised Land. God has secured a life of victory for us. When we live in that victory, we experience forward progress. Forward progress as a Christ-follower may look different each day. Some days it is learning how to listen before you speak (James 1:19). At other times, it is offering forgiveness to those who have hurt you (Colossians 3:13). Still other days, it is extending generosity (2 Corinthians 9:11). Don't be content with staying on the line of scrimmage. Instead, answer God's call to move the ball forward in life and experience the victory he has for you today!

    Act

Ask yourself what is holding you back from moving forward. Are you holding on to unforgiveness? Are you more focused on being heard than listening to others? Are you stingy with what God has blessed you with? Write down those barriers, and ask God to remove them so you can continue pushing the ball downfield!

    Pray

God, I know you want me to experience a life of forward progress. Help me to do that by removing barriers and giving me the strength to do what I need to do in order to grow and advance throughout my life. Amen.
