Read: 

Psalm 127:3-4 “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.”

When the word "heritage" is uttered today, it can evoke various meanings: an inherited tradition, a birthright, or even something tangible passed down through generations. Regardless of the images it conjures, one thing remains abundantly clear: it holds immense value. This profound significance is the very message that God conveys—a message that underscores the preciousness of children. They are a gift to be treasured. 

God wants us, as parents, to understand that he is giving us a gift of the utmost importance. He desires us to recognize the tremendous value of this gift and to treat our children with unwavering focus and purpose. In his eyes, our role as parents is a sacred responsibility, one that warrants great care and devotion. 

Apply: 

Remember your children are a gift and the church wants to partner with you. Your local church will help you train and develop your children toward their God-given purposes. Make sure you and your children are involved, making the most of this great resource.  

Pray: 

God, help me realize what a treasure you have given me. Allow me to see their shapes and gifts so I can partner with you and my church in molding my children to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. In Jesus' name. Amen.
