    Don't Look Down!

    Read

1 Timothy 4:10, "That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe."

    Think

We all know the movie scene where the characters are in difficult positions that require them to take a leap of faith to avoid certain death. In the middle of the chaos, someone always yells, "Don't look down!" The advice is cliché, but practical. When we’re in the midst of adversity, we need to focus on the provision, not the problem.

Where do you look when times are difficult? Timothy was a young leader who was completely out of his depth. He was thrown into the deep end and faced challenges he did not have the experience or training to handle. Sound familiar? The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy to remind him that in all situations, look to Jesus and do not be distracted by F.E.A.R.…False Evidence Appearing Real.

Are you on a tattered bridge over dangerous waters today? Is it a broken relationship, overwhelming debt, fear of failure, or fallout from your past? Now answer this: are you focused on the problem or the provider? When you find yourself in trouble, DON'T LOOK DOWN! Instead, look up to the Provider and trust Him to lead you out.

    Act

One of the best ways to stay focused on God is to focus on others! Who is someone around you today that needs to know about God's ability to provide? Look for opportunities right now to help others. Invite them to FC this weekend! No matter what their need, God has the answer. And, keep looking up!

    Pray

Dear God, I choose today to look up and put my hope in You. I trust that You are orchestrating the events around me to accomplish Your plan for my life. Today, help me focus my thoughts and actions on You instead of my problems. Thank You for being my ultimate provision. In Jesus' name, Amen.
