Genesis 1:26, "Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.'" Genesis 2:7, "Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."

Think

Have you ever seen a father and son walking together and noticed that they had the same walk? Or maybe it was a mother and daughter who had a similar laugh? Parents often pass down their inherent qualities to their children. They also pass down some of their values. "He is generous, just like his mother." "She is great with people, just like her father." God, the Creator, made man in His image and breathed life into him. Out of all His creations in heaven and earth, He chose humans to bear His image. As God's image-bearers, one of the qualities we have is creative genius. This gift is easy to see in artists and musicians. But it can often be overlooked in abilities such as problem-solving, doing electrical wiring, organization, teaching, encouragement, and more. That thing you do that causes someone to ask, "How'd you do that?" could be the very thing that makes you the creative genius God designed you to be. God created YOU in HIS image on purpose for a purpose. He gave you unique gifts and talents to fulfill that purpose. Don't take it for granted. Instead, cherish that fact and use it to reflect the brilliant blaze of His glory!

Act

Take time to consider what makes you a creative genius. You may even want to ask a few people who know you well, "What is something that you think I do well? What are some of my strengths?" Let God's image shine through you as you use that creativity to brighten someone's day. In this time of quarantine, the ability to pray for someone, write an encouraging note, or offer teaching skills would be a great way to share your creative genius!

Heavenly Father, Thank You for creating me in Your image. I know You have given me a creative gift. Help me to not only recognize my gifting but also to utilize it to help others for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen!
