    Where is Your Heart?

    Read

Malachi 3:10, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house." Matthew 6:21, "For where you treasure is, there your heart will be also."

    Think

Have you ever made an investment in a particular stock in the stock market? If so, then you likely woke up each day to check the market and see what gains you made or losses you took. Investing our money in something invariably and intricately gets us involved with it. Jesus talked more about money than He talked about heaven, hell, or even prayer. Why? Because money is a huge indicator of where we are emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. It's an EKG for our heart! When we invest primarily in things that will fade, things that are temporal, we are ultimately setting ourselves up for disappointment. But if we make investing in the local church a priority, as God clearly commands, we find ourselves in a position to have an eternal impact more than we'll ever know! What does your money say about you? Where have you put your heart? Do your investments fall in line with God's priorities? Don't put your heart fully into something that won't last. Instead, discover the peace and security that come from investing in the only institution Jesus ever built, the local church!

    Act

Are you aware of what your money is saying about you? Right now, look at your bank statement to see what you truly put your heart into. If you don't see the local church at the top of your financial priority list, begin to rework your finances so that you can remain obedient to God.

    Pray

Dear heavenly Father, I realize that everything I have comes from You. Thank You for blessing me. Right now, I ask You to help me have the discipline I need to keep Your priorities in line when it comes to my finances. Help me to experience the joy of giving and the peace that comes from being obedient to You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
