Psalm 29:3-4, "The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic." John 10:27-29a, "My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, He is greater than all."

    Think

Every day there are voices in our lives vying to be heard. Powerful voices with the ability to influence our trajectory, either in a life-giving way or not. At home, work, church - all the places that matter - people are speaking into our lives. But when we feel mired by all the competing or conflicting voices, there's only one that is undoubtedly true and will always lead us along the right path - the voice of the Lord! In Psalm 29, David praises God in the midst of a bad storm. He could have cowered in fear and prayed for his safety, but he didn't. Despite the lightning, wind, and rain, he recognized God's voice in the roar of mighty thunder. He knew God was bigger and more powerful than the storm. He was confident that God was in control. Like David, if we have a personal relationship with Jesus, we know His voice. He is the ultimate Shepherd who speaks directly into our hearts and minds. Despite the competing voices, despite the storms of life, Jesus is saying, "Listen to My voice and follow Me." Today, listen for His voice because He has amazing things to say!

    Act

Just as we have voices in our lives, we are a voice in the lives of others. Today, look for opportunities to speak words of encouragement and truth to others. Doing this pleases God and glorifies His name.

    Pray

Dear God, thank You for being the voice of truth in my life. Give me focus as I strive to hear You above all else. And, help me speak Your truth into the lives of others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
