Psalm 23:4, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil; for you are with me."

Nature documentaries are fascinating because they capture wildlife in action. But to understand why certain species do what they do, a voice-over is often added to clue us in. Wouldn't it be great if we were able to hear a voice-over when we're in the wilderness of life facing the elements as we walk into the unknown? Here's the good news: David heard the voice-over in his wilderness journey and we can to! As a shepherd, David fought lions and bears and took down a giant with a single stone. Battle after battle, David succeeded, because he'd heard God's voice-over encouraging him to win the battle over fear and not be afraid. God's voice-over says the same thing to us through Scripture. In fact, "Do not fear, I'm here" is in the Bible over 365 times! The 23rd Psalm was written from experience, as David had witnessed God's protection and heard his reassuring voice countless times. When we place our trust in him, he never leaves us and always fills our hearts with peace. We may still be scared, but God's inspiring voice-over keeps us moving forward in faith.

    Act

Make a list of your current worries, fears and stresses. Then, as a reminder of God's presence and power, read Romans 8:31-39. Conclude by praying over your list. As you pray over each individual item, say, "I am more than a conqueror through Christ!"

    Pray

Dear Lord, thank you for always going before me into every battle. I know that even when I'm afraid, you are there, always fighting for me. I want your voice to always drown out any fear that tries to get the best of me. God, I know there's nothing too big or too powerful for you to overcome. I place my trust in you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
