    Under New Management

    Read

Proverbs 14:12, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but it ends in death."

Job 22:21 "Submit to God, and you will have peace; then things will go well for you."

    Think

Have you ever noticed how certain restaurants boldly advertise "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT?" Whether it's due to poor direction, a change in finances, or just a shift in philosophy, the mantle of leadership changes hands, and it's usually for the better.

Before Jesus enters our lives, we're under poor management - our own. Left to our own devices, we do a lousy job at achieving true and lasting success because we were never meant to be our own boss. Answering to no one, we do whatever feels right at the moment and we often suffer the consequences. No matter how hard we try, we can't fire on all cylinders without God's wisdom and guidance.

When we submit to the ultimate boss - Jesus - and seek to live out His business plan, we become walking, talking, living, breathing billboards advertising "Under New Management." From His first day on the job (the moment you invite Him into your heart), He wants us to study His go-to manual for life - the Bible - that gives us a direct line to hearing God's voice.

Under Jesus' management, you'll never be led astray. So, even though it's often scary to relinquish control and face change, you can trust in Christ's amazing love to take you places you never dreamed possible!

    Act

Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still and know that I am God." After reading today's devotional, take a few minutes to be still and listen. Is there an area you are trying to control? (Usually, areas that are causing us stress and anxiety!) Ask God to give you His wisdom and guidance. Then, be willing to surrender control over whatever He brings to mind and give thanks for having "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT" stamped on your heart.

    Pray

Lord Jesus, Thank You for opening my heart to the light of Your presence. You brought me back to life, restored my heart, and made me new. I seek to obey Your commands, and wherever You lead, I'll follow! Amen.
