Have you ever noticed how certain restaurants boldly advertise "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT"? Whether it was due to poor direction, a change in the finances, or just a shift in philosophy, the leadership changes. And it is usually for the better.Yet, we are still the objects of God's love. From the beginning, He had a plan for our salvation: to perform heart surgery and replace what is broken. He could have left us to fend for ourselves, but He didn't. God's love is too profound. He loves us with all of His heart, and He has done the work needed to repair our broken hearts. Before Jesus enters our lives, we are under poor management – our own. We do a lousy job of taking our lives where they need to go, because we were never meant to be our own boss. Answering to no one, we "follow our hearts" and do whatever seems right to us in the moment. Yet, as we've learned in this series, that way only leads to destruction because our hearts are depraved and diseased. The heart of the problem is the problem with our hearts. Fortunately, we have a Savior who wants to replace our hearts and lead us "in the way everlasting." Those who are Christ-followers are walking, talking, living, breathing billboards advertising "Under New Management." With Christ in us, we have the leadership and direction we need. And we find it in the Bible. It's our go-to guide for life that gives us a direct line to hearing God's voice. Under Jesus' ultimate authority, we know He will never lead us astray. So even though the path ahead may seem difficult or frightening, we are promised and purposed to thrive as we trust in His amazing love to take us places we never dreamed possible!

 

Act

The Bible says in Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God." Today, after spending time reading today's devotional, take a few minutes to be still and listen for God's voice as you open your heart to receive His wisdom and guidance.

 

Pray

Father God, thank You for opening my heart to the light of Your presence. I cherish Your Word and delight at the mention of Your name. You brought me back to life, restored my broken heart, and made me new. I seek to obey Your commands and wherever You lead, I'll follow! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
