    Time to Resign

    Read

Matthew 6:27, "Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

Psalm 55:22, "Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken."

    Think

Imagine being a pilot for a major airline. But not only is it your duty to fly the plane, you're also the co-pilot, a flight attendant, baggage handler, and customer service rep. It wouldn't take you long to hand in your resignation, because, obviously, no one can handle such a ridiculously massive load! Why, then, when it comes to life, do we spread ourselves thin, wear too many hats, and shoulder heavy burdens on our own? It's enough to make you want to quit!

As if life wasn't already enough to handle, the added stress of problems and unforeseen hardships can be overwhelming - as pressure mounts, worry sets in, and our head spins from trying to maintain control. But here's the thing: we were never meant to handle the complexities of life on our own - we're simply not qualified for the job. But God is! We can choose to make Him our Pilot, Jesus our Co-pilot, and the Holy Spirit, our helpful Flight Attendant. Then, as we rely on God's strength and power, worry descends, and the peace of Christ takes us to new heights.

So, what's causing you to worry most? Are you trying to maintain control, or are you leaning on God to help you shoulder the load? If it's the former, then it's time to resign! Cast your cares on the Lord, and He'll help you navigate both the friendly and not-so-friendly skies of life!

    Act

It's time to quit! Say aloud: "God, I admit that I'm not equipped to fill Your position. Right now, I'm handing in my resignation and asking You to sit in the pilot's seat of my life."

    Pray

Dear Lord, I cast my cares on You. Help me to worry less and trust You more. Thank You for not leaving me to navigate life on my own. I rest in Your peace, presence, and power. Amen.
