    The Method of Wisdom

    Read

Ephesians 3:10-11, "His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord."

    Think

"Wisdom is intentional, not accidental." Have you ever been involved in an accident? Maybe it was something serious like a car accident, or as simple as breaking something valuable. It wasn't your intent for that to happen, it just happened. Fortunately for us, accidents don't happen with God. He carefully plans and lays out each detail of his work. Even in the beginning, as he created the universe, he had a plan. Each day he created specific elements as he brought the world into existence. He gives the same attention to detail when it comes to the gift of wisdom. God has a plan for sharing and revealing his wisdom. It doesn't happen haphazardly, but intentionally. God wants us to prioritize wisdom, and he counts it as treasure – giving it value above all else. But, we have to be intentional. It doesn't just happen and it can't be achieved without God. Don't live your life stumbling and bumbling each step of the way! Take intentional, deliberate steps that will help you walk wisely and confidently down the path God has laid out for you.

    Act

Check out the book of Proverbs. It is full of wisdom for everyday life, and its author did exactly what you're doing – he asked God for wisdom! Make it a priority to read one chapter a day for the next month and watch for God to use that wisdom in your life!

    Pray

God, thank you for the gift of wisdom. I know your desire is for me to make it a priority, and I know I can't experience it without being intentional. Help me to apply what I learn through Scripture, as I look to you for wisdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
