    Read

Matthew 22:37-39, "Jesus replied, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

    Think

"We love God with the totality of who we are." The religious leaders of Jesus' day asked him what the greatest law in the Bible was. Jesus shared that all the Bible hinged on a love for God and love for others. Jesus challenged us to love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind. This is a life lived fully loyal to him. How do we do that? It starts when we get to know God by spending time reading the Bible and talking to him through prayer. Our love for God grows as we engage our actions, emotions, and intellect in full obedience to him. Then Jesus quickly followed up with the equally important, "love your neighbor as yourself." That doesn't seem like a big deal until you consider how much we think about and care for ourselves. Jesus is telling us we should do the same for others. What would it look like for you to increase your commitment to loving God with the totality of who you are – heart, soul, and mind? What does it look like to increase your love for others? As you answer these questions and put them into practice, there is no doubt you will become the GREATEST YOU that you can be!

    Act

We develop love for others by spending intentional time with them. What are some things you can rearrange in your schedule to spend more time with God and with those you are trying to show his love?

    Pray

God, thank you for showing me what love is. Please help me to keep you as my priority in all aspects of my life and to selflessly love others, as you have loved me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
