    The Cross

1 Corinthians 1:18, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."

    Think

"The cross is a bridge, and we have a bridge to cross." We live in a world that demands retribution for offenses. Various religions teach karma or "what goes around comes around." In other words, what you DO directly affects what happens to you and if you gain access to the desired eternal destination. As followers of Christ, we know that there must be justice; there must be payment for our offenses. In fact, the Bible teaches that sin is so serious that it created a chasm between God and us. Thankfully, Jesus Christ made a way to bridge the chasm when he chose to die on the cross for all of our sins. We can be certain that the work required for forgiveness and to guarantee an eternity in Heaven has already been DONE. The cross is the bridge that allows us access to the presence of God in Heaven forever. All other world religions are spelled "DO." Christianity is spelled "DONE." The work has been done. The bridge has been built. All we must do is make a choice to cross it.

    Pray

Dear God, I admit I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins and God raised Him from the dead. I want You to be my Savior and I choose to follow You. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me, Amen.
