1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
Think
It is easy to be thankful when everything is going our way. But when obstacles arise, we aren't so quick to be thankful. Instead, we naturally become frustrated. We may begin to compare ourselves to others and wonder why they aren't facing the same challenges. In that frustration we can be tempted to throw our hands up and think ,"What's the use?!" We will all encounter challenges that seem to stop us in our tracks. As a result, our tendency is to neglect to appreciate what is. There is a reason God has you where you are in this moment. Be careful not to miss the blessings during this time. Don't become complacent to the great things God is doing right now. Keep walking in obedience and be thankful for each step along the way. The impact of the seemingly small steps of obedience leads to giant leaps of growth. In the midst of being thankful in those circumstances, we will discover the lessons God wants us to learn.
Act
Make a list of every blessing God has given you in the last day, both big and small. Now thank Him for the blessings in the trials and ask Him to teach you the lessons meant to be learned from them.
Pray
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for rescuing me and leading me in my journey to know You better and become the person You created me to be. Help me to stay focused on You and what You want to teach me in the place You have me right now. Thank You for where I am now and help me to never take for granted the things You do in my life. In Christ's name I pray, Amen.
