1 Samuel 2:1,
"Then Hannah prayed and said: "My heart rejoices in the Lord; in the Lord, my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance."
Think
In yesterday's incredible message, we learned about an extremely difficult challenge impacting the life of a woman named Hannah. Over the next few days, we will breakdown her powerful prayer that presents us with a meaningful model of how we, too, should pray when facing a major challenge. Unlike many at the temple who prayed as a religious ritual, Hannah was full of emotion as she began her heartfelt prayer rejoicing in the name of the Lord. She praised God for being her source of strength and success over her adversaries. Hannah's prayer reminds us that no matter what struggles we face or what enemies attack, we must constantly and consistently express our love to God. Only he can deliver us to victory and provide for all our needs. Today's verse also encourages us that regardless of the challenge - whether it's good, bad or somewhere in-between - to not waver in faith. But instead, to delight in the Lord despite what's happening in our lives at all times. How great is our God!
Act
Recall a time in your past when God stepped in and led you to victory as he did with Hannah. Re-read today's verse and personalize it as you thank God for helping you to defeat that adversary or overcome that major challenge.
Pray
God, I know all things are possible through you and that I can overcome any challenge with you by my side. I'm thankful for your presence when enemies attack or troublesome trials come my way. I know that I am more than a conqueror through Christ, so with great appreciation, I pray this is Jesus' name, Amen.
