Matthew 6:33,
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
Think
"Today we choose to do the important, not the urgent." Today, our lives are cluttered with so many things vying for our attention that nothing really gets the attention it deserves. From phone notifications to social media alerts, so many people are in the pursuit of self-satisfaction. Our daily "cups" are spilling over with appointments and activities in a futile attempt to quench our thirst, yet we're still thirsty. Sadly, that which deserves the most attention often gets the least – our relationship with God. In today's verse, Jesus says to seek God's kingdom first. In other words, God should be our first thirst. This means it's time to do some spiritual spring-cleaning, decluttering the urgent to make room for the important. God is a God of order, and it's His will for us to align our priorities with His. When He is our top priority, everything else falls into place. Righteousness then becomes our practice, our way of life. And when God is the Source that directs our course, He promises that everything we need will be "added" to our lives. This means we will never thirst when we put God first! Do you want God's will to be done in your life? Do you want to live in the sweet spot of His blessing and favor? Then it's time to clean out the clutter, and make room for all of the great things God wants to do in and through your life!
