Ephesians 6:13, "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."

    Think

"Don't be partially dressed. Don't be underdressed. Put on the whole armor of God." Legendary football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant famously said, "Offense sells tickets but defense wins championships." It's exciting to make the winning reception or score the come-from-behind touchdown. But, if you aren't equally prepared to defend your own goal line, then you can still lose the game. The same is true in the Christian life. Spiritual highs are exciting, but spiritual lows can be devastating if you aren't prepared for the attack. The right equipment is essential to standing strong against the onslaught of the enemy. Successful Christ-followers understand that a winning defense can only happen when they put on the full armor of God. Only then can you hold the line against an enemy bent on your failure and defeat. The full uniform consists of the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Bible. Every part is important and will provide you the protection you need to stand strong because you know who you belong to and who has your back! Don't be blindsided! Put on your armor and be prepared for the opposition -- and the ultimate victory that is ahead!

    Act

Take a moment today to read Ephesians 6:10-20 in order to get the bigger picture of the full armor of God. As you read, visualize yourself clothed in this uniform, knowing that today and every day you can stand your ground, hold the line, regardless what the enemy throws at you.

    Pray

Thank you God for the uniform you have given me as a Christ-follower. Help me to put on the full armor every day so that I can hold the line no matter what challenge I come face to face with. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
