    Step One

    Read

Matthew 2:1-2, "After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, ‘Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.'"

    Think

"Go for the ask!" Maybe when you think of the wise men, you picture them dressed in beautiful robes, led by a star, bringing Jesus gifts from a far away place. Our understanding of the wise men usually stops there, and they become "extras" on the set in our minds. Normally we aren't too curious about the wise men, but they were definitely curious about Jesus. They were sophisticated men who were always seeking knowledge, and in this case, they were seeking knowledge about the Son of God. Their status and sophistication didn't stop them from going for the ask, and because they did, they met Jesus! We, too, are often one question away from a breakthrough. The wise men weren't wise because they had degrees from prestigious universities. They were wise because they asked the right questions – they were truly seeking the Savior of the world.

    Act

The wise men took the first step toward understanding Jesus by seeking him, and you can do the same by simply getting to know what the bible says about who he is. Set an appointment to meet with Jesus daily by reading Scripture and praying. You'll find the more time you spend with him, the more you'll understand him!

    Pray

Jesus, thank you for desiring a personal relationship with me. I want to seek you like the wise men did! Help me to do this with all my heart so I can know you more, Amen.
