    Spiritual Spring Cleaning

    Read

Matthew 6:33, "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

Romans 12:2, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will."

    Think

Our lives are often cluttered with so many things vying for our attention that nothing fully gets the attention it deserves. From phone notifications and social media alerts to appointments and extracurricular activities, we bow to the god of busyness. And, sadly, that which deserves top-billing is often left on the back burner of life - our daily relationship with God.

If you find yourself giving God your leftovers regularly, then it's time to do some spiritual spring cleaning by decluttering the urgent to make room for the important! And it starts with eradicating FOMO - the fear of missing out - and realizing that you're missing out on something far more consequential than social media, far more critical than any urgent text or email.

When we make God our highest priority, when growing in our relationship with Christ is at the top of our to-do list, everything else falls into place. Reflecting His character and priorities in all we do then becomes our practice, our way of life. And when God is the Source that directs our course, everything we need will be "added" to our lives.

Do you want to live in the sweet spot of God's blessing and favor? Clean out the busyness clutter to make room for all of the great things He wants to do in and through your life!

    Act

As you consider how to declutter the urgent to make room for the important, address what's driving your FOMO and visualize what might happen if you do miss out - because it's likely nothing. Then think about the rewards of pleasing God and living out His will - because it's everything! What is one daily habit you can put into place that will strengthen your relationship with God as you give Him your best?

    Pray

Dear Lord, I want to do life Your way. I want to align my commitments with Your priorities and grow to know You better every day. Help me to stay focused on Your good, pleasing, and perfect will. In Jesus' name, Amen.
