Jeremiah 29:11,
"‘For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
Think
"The better we know God, the better we know ourselves." Have you ever been in a situation that you were completely unaware of until it was too late? Maybe you were checking your reflection in a window when you realized everyone on the other side was watching you. Maybe you were alone in your car, singing at the top of your lungs, only to realize other drivers were staring at you. It's important to have situational awareness not only in social situations, but in every area of life. Situational awareness helps us understand what's going on around us and helps us with a plan for making the most of our situations. Nobody is more situationally aware than God. He knows the most in-depth details of every situation and has the best plan for any situation. Only when we have a relationship with God do we gain access to a level of situational awareness that we didn't have before. As you find yourself in different situations, ask God to help you see the situation through his eyes. Trust his guidance and wisdom to make the most of where you are!
Act
Since true situational awareness starts with your relationship with God, reflect on some of your routines. Does the amount of time you spend praying, reading your Bible, attending church, and talking with people who follow Christ set you up for a great relationship with God? If not, what is one way you could improve one of those areas this week?
Pray
Thank you, God, for creating me and giving me the privilege of a relationship with you. Help me to focus on that relationship so that I can make the most out of the situations you place me in. In Jesus' name, Amen.
