Ephesians 2:12-13, "...remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ."
Think
Thankfulness is not just an attitude, it's a decision. But to make that conscious decision to be thankful, we must first remember or acknowledge what we are thankful for. For some, that is an easy decision. When life is going well and is firing on all cylinders, we can easily look around and find things to be thankful for. But what happens when life hits a road bump? The best thing for us to do is look back and remember what was. For those who are Christ followers, we simply need to remember where we were before God rescued us and acknowledge the saving work that Christ did for us on the cross. The reality is, when we are sinners saved by grace, we always have something to be thankful for! No matter what the circumstances of your life are now, if you have a relationship with Christ, you should be able to display true gratitude every day. Remember, while you may not be where you want to be or think you should be, you can be thankful that you aren't where you were!

Pray
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for rescuing me from my sin and securing my eternity through my relationship with Christ. Help me to keep that reality at the forefront of my mind so that I can live a life of true thankfulness for all You have done! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
