    Radically Rescued

2 Corinthians 5:11, 20, "Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too ... So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, ‘Come back to God!'"

    Think

How many times have you heard the term "social distancing" in the past few days? All day, every day, we are inundated with information on how to avoid exposure AND how not to expose others. That speaks to us, right? We definitely don't want to be a part of this growing problem if we can help it! So, we wash our hands more often, avoid high-touch surfaces, and stay home. But are we loving others well if we only protect them physically? What about spiritually? Eternities are hanging in the balance. Forever is a very long time! This should be of far greater concern. It makes us shudder to think of eternal separation from Christ. Our faith is founded in the hope of heaven, and Jesus' constant presence in our lives gives us peace. Why would we keep this to ourselves? Because we've been radically rescued by our Savior's love, it's "our fearful responsibility to the Lord to work hard at persuading others" who desperately need Him in their lives. We are Christ's ambassadors - we are to be the link between God and the people around us. Jesus is the Great Physician. He alone has the cure. Recommend Him! Think of your own story and how your relationship with Jesus has changed you. That's a perfect place to start the conversation.

    Act

Ask God to orchestrate an opportunity to share your testimony with someone desperately in need of Christ. Invite them to join you online for church this Sunday. Be intentional and make sure to follow-up with that person.

    Pray

God, please bring to my mind someone who needs to know You. Open the door for me to have that conversation and give me boldness to speak Your truth - even if it feels awkward at first. Work in the hearts of those around me who don't know You - bring them to salvation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
