    Preach It

Romans 19:17, "So, then faith comes to us by hearing the Good News. And the Good News comes by someone preaching it."

    Think

The power of words is undeniable. We all remember certain words spoken to us as children that we can still recall to this today. They may have been words from our friends, teachers, coaches, or parents. They might have been words that brought us joy, grief, pain or encouragement. But, for some reason, they have stuck with us. This week, we've been looking at the various ways God speaks to us. One of the ways God speaks is through the sermons we hear when we gather for worship. No words can aptly explain what happens when people join together to worship God and hear him speak into our lives. Have you ever heard someone say, "I felt like the pastor was speaking directly to me!"? That's because he is! God speaks to us through our pastor and others with the God-given ability to communicate his truth. Consistently committing to attending church is a great way to hear God's voice. Why? It's because our great God sets up divine appointments when we are faithful about being in his house and believe that he wants to speak directly into our hearts. All we have to do is take this step of obedience and trust that God speaks to us through the wisdom of others. Are you listening?

    Act

Today, make it a priority in your life to be consistently committed to coming to church. Come expecting God to speak to you specifically through the message. Be ready to take notes and receive what God wants to give you.

    Pray

Dear God, thank you for all the ways I'm able to hear from you. Help me listen and discern your voice above all else in order to hear and understand how to apply your wisdom to my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
